Charlie and the Rays was founded by sisters Jordan and Rebecca Stobbe, and childhood
friend Gracia Bridges as they busked on the streets of Pike Place Market in hometown of Seattle, WA. They soon began to expand the band to create a fuller sound, adding their cousin, a drummer and horn player. Their record, Black Licorice, incorporates complex female harmonies and bluesy guitar riffs of oldies rock and folk, fused with textures of harmonica, mandolin, and vibrant horns.
